On 12 December 2025, the French Ministry of Justice launched a public consultation on the reform of French arbitration law. Stakeholders and users are invited to submit comments by 20 January 2026. The consultation follows the establishment of a dedicated working group in November 2024 to review potential reforms to French arbitration law.
The working group submitted its report and proposals to the Ministry on 20 March 2025. The report consisted of two documents: a detailed account of the work undertaken setting out 40 reform proposals and a draft Code of Arbitration. These materials were formally published on 26 March 2025.
The consultation builds on the working group’s recommendations and earlier feedback. It allows contributors to provide comments on each article of the proposed reforms which will inform the finalisation of the decree intended to enact the new Code of Arbitration.
Submissions should be sent to the Ministry using the designated Word template and emailed to <a href="mailto:consultation-arbitrage.dacs@justice.gouv.fr" class="news-text_link">consultation-arbitrage.dacs@justice.gouv.fr</a> by the consultation deadline.
